How about driving one of the most efficient sports cars in Italian history? Apart from the exclusive and very expensive R-FW versions from the dealership department, you cannot find more sublime as a machine at Aprilia than this RSV4 RF.
Based on the RSV4-RR with bonus peripherals of superior quality, the RF benefited from the same set of improvements in 2017. 2018 brings a slightly retouched decoration. Fans of electronics and tuning will be delighted because the APRC platform has evolved on all points.
– New ATC: traction control, adjustable in 8 positions, refined and more efficient.
– New AWC: the in-house anti-wheeling, adjustable on 3 levels, now much more precise thanks to the IMU.
– New ALC: the Aprilia Launch Control, or the standing start assistant. Adjustable on 3 levels and even more efficient.
– New AQS: the shifter, called Aprilia Quick Shift, which now allows upshifting and downshifting without affecting the clutch.
– New APL: Aprilia Pit Limiter, a system that allows you to select and limit the maximum speed allowed in the pit lane; or incidentally to comply with the speed limits posted on the road.
– New ACC: cruise control. The new electronic management allows you to maintain a chosen speed without worrying about the throttle.
– Completing the pack, braking now uses Cornering ABS technology, which is active anti-locking when cornering. It works in conjunction with rear wheel anti-lift (RLM) to ensure stability and efficiency during deceleration. Can be configured on 3 levels and can be switched off.
To keep up with this update, the three injection maps have been re-configured. Each offers the same level of engine power, at 201 horsepower, but it’s the way this potato is released that changes.
Big change on the cockpit side. The RSV4 gain brand new TFT instrumentation. A beautiful full color screen with as much information as a tablet could display. Two types of screen are available, road or circuit type.
Let’s stay digital with the V4-MP platform. Installed as standard on the RSV4-RF (option on the RR), this interface allows you to connect the motorcycle to your smartphone and intervene directly in the settings. A host of circuits are recorded, allowing the pilot to fine-tune his electronic turn-by-turn management. In case a plot is not in the box, it is still possible to save it. Some additional info is at the bottom of the page.
Aprilia is known for its dedication to quickly transferring its technology developed in Superbike into its production motorcycles. The improvements cited demonstrate this once again but do not overshadow the heart, the gasoline, the ardor of the RSV4: its engine. A very powerful 4-cylinder in V at 65 °, outperforming most engines in the category. A monster, a performance booster with a delightful rumble. Now adapted to Euro4, it gains a new calculator allowing it to take 300 extra revs. Aprilia, believing its V4 to be more than full at all speeds, has screwed up the variable valve intake ducts altogether. Gain: 500 grs. The new ride-by-wire eliminates a series of components located between the throttle grip and the throttles. And hop, another 590 grams of gained. Mechanically, within the boiler are new segments and valve return springs, as well as lighter pistons. All of this maintains the RSV4’s watts level despite Euro4, i.e. 201 horsepower at 13,000 rpm and 11.7 mkg at 10,500 rpm, and should bring even more efficient revs..
The RF differs from the RR by its more aggressive “Superpole” decoration and its set of peripherals Öhlins. To improve the connection to the ground, the inverted fork is of the NIX type and the shock absorber a TTX. The nervousness of the front axle will be calmed by a steering damper, also Swedish. On the braking side, RR and RF are fitted with new larger 330 mm (+ 10 mm) brake discs and colossal Brembo M50 calipers. Crushing of the arms guaranteed. To complete the range and improve liveliness, the RF is fitted with Marchesini forged aluminum rims.
Once the RSV4-RF is in your hands, you will only have two judges: the track and the stopwatch. All the material to shake them is here, and ask for nothing.

Regarding Aprilia V4-MP:
– Active Electronic Setup
Device which comes closest to the electronic “corner-by-corner” management used in the world of competition. Thanks to the GPS module installed in the smartphone, the system follows the position of the motorcycle on the circuit moment by moment and automatically modifies the electronic settings (traction and anti-wheeling control), based on the configurations programmed by the rider, turn after turn. turn. Safety and efficiency on the circuit are increased by adapting the control parameters to each point of the circuit, without the driver being distracted from his driving.
– Adaptive Race Assistant
This feature provides real-time guidance on how to get the most out of RSV4 and safely. The application analyzes the driver’s driving performance in real time against his best lap and guides it by immediate display, providing advice to gradually improve his performance.
– Advanced Telemetry Dashboard
A dashboard “virtual ”which displays on the smartphone all the information supplied with the standard instruments, as well as numerous additional parameters acquired by the motorcycle’s telemetry, such as: the instantaneous power supplied to the crankshaft; the instantaneous torque supplied to the crankshaft; the percentage of power available; thrust on the rear wheel; rear wheel slip; lateral longitudinal acceleration (diagram G-G); the degree of inclination.
