Despite all these developments, the 999 is still entitled to certain complaints, which some would put in the box "authenticity". The gearbox is too firm, the saddle ignores comfort, the suspensions are as dry as they are efficient … Either a Ducat ‘is worth it, but we would have appreciated an engine with more character. He has become very powerful but on the sensational side, we have seen better. Let’s stop throwing stone – the Italian twin knows how to make powder speak when we wake him up. Very lively and filled to perfection whatever the speed, the boiler sends large watts to the rear tire for more efficiency than the previous 999. The extra power has something to do with it, but it is especially in terms of motor skills that the Italian has made great progress. Taken at good speed on the circuit, it shows even more stability, a foolproof chassis and tremendous braking. It lacks a bit of extension, which makes it necessary to monitor the tachometer (or to know the mechanics well) in order to avoid being surprised by the breaker.
Due to the higher bubble, protection has improved significantly. Not enough to consider the cushy road; a Ducati Superbike has never accepted an ounce of road spirit. Sport, period! In addition to her increased efficiency, let us hope that her new head reconciles her with the Ducatists. Although better than the 998, its unique looks have not been well received by purists. What does it matter for Ducati. The manufacturer is upgrading its weapon and intends to impose its hypersport in the hearts of enthusiasts in the long term..
