This blade is a Wakizashi, the "little saber" who accompanies the Samouraï. Honda took the name and the philosophy of this weapon to sharpen its famous roadster. Why the Wakizashi? For "its refined aesthetic, its thin blade, protruding character combining the mixture of the different materials used". The Bower Design workshops took care of this re-looking. Does it ring a bell ?!? But yes, those who made the VB1, the SV 1000 special edition, the R1 Steel Fighter … and very recently the magnificent SSR 1000.
The small transformation of the latest generation 600 hornet takes place as follows: a branded imitation carbon belly pan "wakizashi", 2 radiator scoops in aluminum texture enhanced with Japanese symbols, and a small sticker to complete the whole above the dashboard. This limited edition is sold at the same price as the 600 Hornet 06, ie € 6,990 … The kit is not free; because the Wakizashi are vintage 05 Hornets, available in blue, black, silver and orange.
A bit of Japanese culture: "The katana is the great sword (it carries the soul of the samuraï), the Wakizashi is conversely the little saber, which was the “blade of honor” of the Samouraï always fixed on one side and always within reach. Finally, the Tanto, is the small dagger (used when the Samouraï had to do seppeku or hara-kiri)". Honda Info.
