With a successful foray into the field of retro roadsters, Mash offers its catalog more than 125 basic. The Five Hundred represents a real alternative to Yamaha SR 400 type machines, with less name and more evidence to be done. A touch of luxury now wants to establish the reputation of this 400.
To do this, the French brand did not choose a famous driver or an event to badge a special series. It is rather on the side of fashion that inspiration is expressed. The claw "Von Dutch", yet in decline in the world of Sportswear, arises on this typical vintage roadster.
Appeared as a prototype at the EICMA 2014 show, the machine hit the mark so much that it has the right to move on to the (small) series stage. In terms of simplistic design and old-fashioned technology, the 400 Five Hundred is its pride. For a good handful of euros more, we are entitled to a layer of fashion far from going unnoticed. In addition to the chocolate color, enthusiasts will immediately appreciate the leather parts such as the belt, the saddle, and the counters cover. Unusual work on a motorcycle, carried out by a saddler craftsman.
Some clean aspects of the proto must have become reasonable … but not totally. Absent on the original creation, the front mudguard is adjustable in height and the rear one is retractable.
The rest is technically more Cartesian but remarkable. The Von Dutch makes the difference with a number plate on the headlight, cross handlebars, thermal bands on the exhaust pipes, grips from Ariete, Metzeler Karoo 2 tires, and to conclude in style, a special graphic on the tank.
The Mash 400 Five Hundred Von Dutch will only be offered in 200 units, for a price of 6,490 euros. A sum far enough from the super affordable price of the standard Five Hundred. 100 will be for France, and the other half for the rest of Europe.
