I announce ‘crush’. Or stroke of madness, curiosity, stroke of poker … Whatever you want but once again, Mash offers a grindstone that has not finished talking. This new 400 Force will turn all passers-by, and they will all have the same expression. "Ehhh, a war motorcycle !

Terrible restoration, looks like new."

Well yes, it is new. The staff of the SIMA had a hollow nose in unearthing this very ambiguous decoration. Apart from connoisseurs, most observers will believe they are dealing with a motorcycle that took part in a military conflict in the mid-twentieth century. Everything is there to believe. The army-typical khaki green color, headlight protection, sleek rear cladding, the license plate across a front fender extended to flirt with the ground, a solo seat mounted on springs, a set of accessories with an immediate alluring effect and black to accompany the majority color. Dark are the exhaust lines, fork tubes, handlebars, shocks, saddles, engine, controls and rear license plate / headlight bracket. The Mash concludes the show with an American G.I. style airbox cover.

The accessories, let’s get back to it. The passenger seat is a real treat from a step back in time – a pan-wide bike seat with a retaining harness. Will it be comfortable and / or practical, no idea; but visually, it’s a total eye-catcher … and probably more with a well-placed smile.
To complete the identity of a tactical skirmish, the 400 Force places a jerrycan and a suitcase on its hips. Enough to stack the terminals, take the snack and the detonators, store the plans of D-Day and put aside some bandages. Note the faux leather knee grips matching the color of the bag.
The only lack of taste is the digital instrumentation. For such a typical machine, a block simplified to the extreme with a needle counter would have been better suited. Just like the injection which deserves to be hidden by a cover imitating a carburetor, as on the Classic of Triumph. It remains to be determined which ones will be standard or optional.

Will they use it to shoot the sequel to the M.A.S.H film (from which the brand takes its name)? Not really, but it is clear the great publicity stunt that Mash will afford with this 400. The technical basis is none other than that of the Five Hundred, with a single cylinder of 27 horses, a steel frame, a 35mm fork, twin side shocks, 280mm brake disc with dual piston caliper for the front (smaller disc in the rear) and 18 and 17 inch spoke rims.
After the limited Von Dutch series, the Mash 400 Force takes up the theme of exclusivity with a marketing limited to 200 copies for Europe. Disembarkation planned for March 2019.
