At Mandello, we like the sporty roadster, but with a very personal definition. On one side of the road, we find these wild streetfighters, living on aggression and fury. On the other hand, we arouse ourselves with dignity without raising the tone too much.

It’s this sporty side in Lacoste polo shirt and gentlemanly charm that defines the Guzzi 1200 Sport. Without rediscovering the muscular side of the old Centauro, this bourgeois roadster defends its stronghold with its big and fat transverse twin from the 1200 Norge and its Breva part-cycle.

Less bestial than the Griso, this big-hearted machine likes to show off its power in the mid-range, with its typical, muffled, deep pounding, with a length in the mouth that no multi-valve boiler can offer with such relaxation. This is pullman! But if you are a grip enthusiast who likes to see a needle panic in the 5-digit zone, you will find in the Italian twin a lack of liveliness contrasting singularly with the name of the machine..
The driving position is tilted to the front, justifying a more dynamic driving than with a Breva. Playful, the 1200 Sport still demands a fair amount of respect – its 240 kilograms empty requiring you to take care of driving..

Charming with its vibrations and characterful driving behavior, the 1200 Sport is equipped with a few elements that give even more character to its already pleasant design: a pair of petal brake discs, a carbon silencer and a nose screen sport. The very complete dashboard is superb, the saddle comfortable, and the single-sided arm will dispense you from the chore of chain lubrication.

With this bike, Guzzi claims a version of sport steeped in traditionalism. Beautiful, sweet, it is however intended for connoisseurs. Out of the question to tickle the Z 1000 or a cousin Tuono, the roadster with the eagle emblem is not made for that. It’s not trendy and that’s good, because we don’t appreciate it if it did. When you are born Guzzi, you have to respect certain codes.
