Guzzi and sport go back a long way. A time illustrated by the 1000 Daytona, the Ghezzi-Brian or the unusual MGS-01 Corsa. Since then, the brand has focused on classic machines, letting the passionate side take precedence over the agitations..
Still, it looks like it itches a bit. We want as proof this V9 Bobber Sport, eager to be the meanest and most dynamic of the family.
Circuit or café-racer for this special series? Not the kind, not the envy. More a claim of vitality which is shown by a fruity color, a refined look and a pair of Öhlins shock absorbers. The rear axle will thus benefit from more rigor, with these quality elements and offering more adjustments.
Motorcycle sport is also a driving position. Aggressive or collected, it must provoke the thrill and a more or less pronounced affiliation for discomfort ;-). Wish granted with the installation of rear footrest plate, lower handlebars and a thinner single-seater saddle.
It is not so much on the performance side but on the style that the Bobber Sport will stand out the most. The two-tone color is pretty cool, the sleek rear justifies the name of bobber, and small details are sure to fuel the post-ride inspection debates. Shortened front mudguard, addition of fork gussets, grafting of a mini nose screen, lowering of a stage for the headlight, and increase in the size of the plates covering the air boxes.
What about the twin? Unchanged it seems. Not really powerful with its 55 horsepower but proud of its character and endowed with a more generous torque than the V7 (not yet enough to pilling the tire …). The sound will however be more present with a specific exhaust.
After a V7 family abundantly fattened with variations, now the V9 wants to be more noticed in its turn. Except that she comes out more fangs than dresses. To nibble the road, nothing to make it bleed.
