Ducati MIG-RR tried out

Electric mountain bike for 6,250 euros

A Ducati bike? That’s right. Our colleagues from MOUNTAINBIKE magazine had the opportunity to try out the Ducati MIG-RR and describe their impressions.

While socially acceptable e-motorcycles, with a few exceptions, are a long time coming, the electric market for mountain bikes is booming.

No wonder that so many motorcycle manufacturers like to play along here: That D.ucati MIG-RR is based on the MIG from the e-bike manufacturer Thok. A real, experienced e-bike, just in a Duc garb.

Tight chassis makes sense

Thok relies on 170 mm suspension travel at the front and 160 mm at the rear, high-quality components such as the Shimano Steps E8000 motor with 504 Wh battery, a FOX chassis, Shimano brakes and Mavic wheels (29 "front, 27.5" rear ). Our colleagues from MOUNTAINBIKE magazine have already chased the debutant over the trails and were convinced: The stiff chassis makes sense, because eMTBs are otherwise often too soft.

In the first test, the Ducati mountain bike impressed with good handling, high-quality technology and a tight chassis.

The battery on the down tube of the frame gives the bike a low center of gravity – and leaves space for a bottle cage. The Ducati MIG-RR also scores points off-road with its pleasantly compact seating position and agile handling, and at 22.5 kilos (frame size M, without pedals), it is easy to move. Small downer: Compared to other Shimano drives, there is a lack of end power, the icing on the cake for ambitious mountain bikers.

Noticed positively: Good handling, high-quality technology, tight chassis

Noticed negatively: little final power

Sizes: S to XL

Price: 6,250 euros

MOTORRAD verdict: 4 stars out of a possible 5

The conclusion of the professionals from MOUNTAINBIKE magazine: surprisingly good, technically high-quality eMTB that is really fun!
