Custom revolution

The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles opened a new exhibition in April 2018 that deals with spectacular custom bikes. We present some of the models on display.

D.he most of the custom bikes that can be seen at the Custom Revolution in the Petersen Automotive Museum are barely recognizable. The differences to the basic model are too great. The range of converted models ranges from a brand new MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR to the Excelsior Twin from 1914.

A total of 25 custom bikes

Most of the conversions on display are from customizers in the United States. But the works of three German screwdrivers also made it into the exhibition.

In total, the Custom Revolution consists of 25 motorcycles from the manufacturers BMW, Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Yamaha, Honda, Moto Guzzi, MV Agusta, Excelsior, Triumph, BSA, Vincent, Matchless, Alta, Mission Motors, Musket, Buell and Indian, the were made by remodeling forges, some of which are very popular in the scene. Some bikes are probably already known in this country. Friends of Glemseck 101 should, for example, remember the E-LisaBad, which was converted by Krautmotors and based on the BMW C-Evolution scooter.

The exhibition could be visited between April 2018 and March 2019. Although the Custom Revolution is no longer on display, some other historic motorcycles can still be viewed in the Petersen Automotive Museum, which were housed in other exhibitions.
