The F3 range has evolved little by little, the last update having been made under the pressure of Euro4. The 675 thus received a whole series of small improvements – update of its engine management, revised clutch control, technical modifications affecting the cylinder head, distribution, exhaust and gearbox – without any loss of power or weight gain. Along with Yamaha, MV-Agusta is the only manufacturer to still believe in the potential of Supersports. Everyone else threw in the towel while waiting for better days. Too bad, because a hysterical 600 remains a particularly fun tracker to drive. And ready to seduce young bikers. An A2 clampable version has been available since May 2018. To comply with the regulations, this version is limited to 95 hp: a sine qua non condition for installing the clamping at 47.5 bolts.

Superb, aggressive, the F3 is indeed an MV, retaining the stylistic codes established by the F4. She seems more mischievous, more compact, more playful, almost more vicious. Despite the minimum price policy that the Varese factory wishes to apply, the machine has a superb single-sided arm and a steel trellis frame connected to side plates – it’s beautiful, it’s as rigid as you want, but it requires a good financial effort from MV. Where is the factory going to save money? By putting an ugly bowl for the muffler? Well no ; even there, it’s nice to see. To identify with the number of cylinders in the boiler, the breath is expelled by 3 side flutes whose bevelling follows the shape of the wheel. By turning the rear mud flap, you will benefit from an extraordinarily airy saddle. Always so strong these Italians on the design.

Its 3 cylinder, we have been talking about it for a long time. And we never tire of dreaming about these claims. I remind you that the cylinder head is the same size as an A4 page. Small, but very strong. The boiler produced 144 horsepower in the ORO version and over 15,000 rpm. This is absolutely superb performance for a machine of this type, almost equivalent to a 750 four-cylinder. The 675cc English of the old Triumph Daytona developed 128 nags – that gives you an idea of ​​the work of the transalpine engine manufacturers. But on this version of series, one finds only 128 ch, that is to say an equal game with the English one. The Ride-by-wire throttle grip induces advanced electronics and more finesse when opening the throttle. The F3 is equipped with traction control and multiple injection maps. And since 2014, the EAS shifter is part of the panoply.
After becoming widespread on 4-cylinder models, ABS invaded the Tre Pistoni range in 2014. The Bosch control unit, 9MP version, is very small, very light, and is also disconnectable. The F3 has two modes: Normal for road use, Race for muscular use.

On the F4 1000, the front axle is impressive by its characteristics. That of the F3 seems closer to the standard of current sports cars, therefore beefy: a 43mm inverted fork equipped with Brembo 4-piston radial brake calipers. The discs are serious, very serious, with a diameter of 320 mm. This terror fades its weapons and will not make a quarter.
