The GSX-F’s philosophy is no longer what it used to be. Initially developed as sport-GTs, in direct competition with the unmistakable VFR, these machines have now been transformed into road cars based on GSF Bandit. The 650 had started the movement several years ago, offering the road to the long courses for the medium displacement and the medium purses..

But a big GT was sorely missed in the Suzuki range for a long time. The too sporty 1300 GSX-R Hayabusa could not claim this role. So the builder makes us a Bandit-style cocktail again. First a big engine; That’s good: the maousse and recent 1255 cm3 is clean, modern, torquey, (perhaps a little too wise), and perfectly suited to power a large carrier. Then, let’s take the technical basis of the 1250 GSF, adapt the fairing of the GSX-F 650, add some touring elements. And presto, here’s the GSX-F 1250 – Hammamatsu’s heavy-duty roadster (which we were already hitting on MP when the 650 was unveiled).

Looking more closely, we realize that this 1250 faired goes a little further than that. If it takes the optical unit and the dashboard of the 650 (themselves from the GSX-R 1000 K5-K6), its fairing panels are more imposing, more opulent, more worked, with slight stylistic effects inspired by the brand’s sports cars. Some add-ons make driving and daily life more pleasant. Center stand, Adjustable saddle height (805 or 825 mm), ABS; and a list of options including all travel necessities: top-case, side cases, double windshield.

This GT is aimed above all at those who want to enjoy the road and a big torque without looking for the top of the range of motorcycle touring. Its chassis and its equipment will not be able to compete with the standing the rigor of a BMW R 1200 RT, a Yamaha FJR 1300 or a Kawasaki GTR 1400. On the other hand, the latter will not be able to fight on the attractive ground of the price. . The GSX-F 1250 is offered at an unbeatable price for a displacement of this caliber.
