New name, new family, new machine, new ambitions, and when a roadster recovers most of a GSX-R 1000, the corners and the bandits are starting to see a big, spicy steak approaching.
GSR 1000 or Virus, some preparations could not wait for the GSX-S to quench the impatient fans of Suzuk ‘mechanics. Why wait so long to get out your big, fat roadster? Crisis? Reluctance to invest? Doubt? We do not care ! The important thing is that the Suz range finally has a demonic machine with large handlebars in its ranks. The engines of the big Gex have always been praised for their roundness, their power and their availability. Here, we graft a proven, reliable and generous mechanism: the boiler of the GSX-R vintage 2005 to 2008. Perhaps the best 4 legs in line of the time. Today, some modifications soften its ardor to stick to a more roadsterized use while remaining sporty. Lighter pistons, the arrival of iridium spark plugs, revised camshaft profiles and recalibrated injection take care of the job, including making the mill more available in mid-range.

We can blame a "ignition delay" as to the choice of its engine. We will not do anything about its chassis. At first glance, it’s full GSX-R between the two wheels. Error, only the swingarm comes from the sports car – not the 2005 or the 2008; the 2015 version. The Kayaba (KYB) 43mm inverted fork is fully adjustable, anchored to a heavy-section aluminum frame. Very similar to that of a Gex, even lighter, its structure is specific to the GSX-S. Suzuki promises great handling and no less handling. Little doubt about it, especially as the weight is contained. At 210 kilos, the machine weighs only 8 more than the GSX-R. ABS included; the panoply for braking is worthy of the best Hamamatsu machines: Brembo monobloc calipers, 310 mm track, 8 pistons in all for the front axle.
