Power and velvety, charm of the big 4 cylinders full of torque, classic style, such was, remains and flourishes the XJR 1300. In the dark corners of the city fight the Z 1000, the FZ1, the Monsters S4Rs and other KTMs Superduke, clawing the asphalt and protecting their territory, watching for the arrival of the B-King.
Years go by and time just can’t seem to slap Yamaha’s classy big roadster. Only the anti-pollution standards seem to make him cough. But 2007 is the year the XJR is stretching its nose. What is it? A small injection transplant (from the R1 2004 vintage), modified intake camshafts, as well as a new and unique catalytic exhaust, and equipped with an EXUP; ciao the 2 silencers, which refines the silhouette seen from behind, and reveals a strange look from the rear – the rear lights are now LED, and their design closely resembles that of the lights of the first generation of R6. On the aesthetic side, this is (with the pot and the new white flashing cabochons) the only visible modification. Note also some changes in the damping, for a little more rigor, and a slightly revised driving position..
In addition to making it possible to spend Euro 3, the injection will allow the XJR to claim its appetite. Its big mill has never been known for its sobriety but on the contrary for its generosity, in several areas. Besides, with this big roadster, nothing prevents you from going and teasing the young streetfighter – this old lion can still bite, even if his capacities and his pretensions are from another time; or rather, from another generation.
